Terms and Conditions

United Studios is a provider of Web Development and Deployment services. Customers who benefit from being part of our network are asked to read the following terms and conditions, as these are the rules and governing law which stands when a customer purchases a service from us.

Terms of Use
You the user agree to these Terms and Conditions and all applicable governing laws and regulations. You must also agree to the compliance of any applicable local law which may be present. Users who do not wish to abide and follow the Terms of Service at United Studios will have their services suspended or cancelled depending on the severity of the case.

United Studios and the United Studios Network and its assets are protected by intellectual Copyright and trade mark laws.

Website Design
A customer who decides to benefit from our Web Design services will have to abide by these terms and conditions when receiving their service from United Studios.

  1. Full Payment of the website is expected before any content is made “live”. The Copyright of said website will remain the property of United Studios until payment is received. We have the right to deny you access to your website until we receive full payment for the completed work.
  2. Web Design projects which are cancelled prematurely will be charged at half of the project value. Project Value is set out to every customer in an “Overview” letter which is sent to every customer before production of said website begins. Assets which have been created for the customer to the point of cancellation will be provided to the customer once payment has been received.
  3. We hold the right to adjust quotation prices if the customers “requirements” are changed during the construction phase. The customer will be notified of any increase in price in writing or via e-mail.
  4. Hosting your website with United Studios is the best way to get the best service from us. When your website is hosted with us we can manage, edit and control it efficiently. Using a third party host will delay response times to any issues or problems which maybe reported.
  5. If a customer requires a website design or its coding nature to be changed on a regular basis throughout the construction process, United Studios holds the right to
    re-evaluate the labour costs which will be incurred with the project.
  6. Final Copyright is handed to the customer upon full payment of the website.
  7. We reserve the right to advertise that United Studios created your website in the footer space of your web page. If you wish to remove this content at any time, you are requested to notify United Studios, of who will notify you of the procedure which must be followed to do this. Removing the advertisement is possible, but for advertisement purposes and business expansion we ask that customers help us promoted the business by leaving this in.
  8. Domain Name charges are applicable to most website design projects. Charges for these and period charges vary on the domain name type and its TLD extension, for more information on this please contact the sales team. Customers who do not pay for their domains will have them suspended until payment is received.

Website Hosting
A customer who decides to benefit from our Web Hosting services will have to abide by these terms and conditions when receiving their service from United Studios.

  1. Customers who decide to take out an Annual billing cycle will be required to pay for their hosting in FULL before it is activated.
    • When your hosting is due renewal you will be sent a notification 1 month in advance. We recommend that you pay for your hosting before the final renewal date.
    • If a billing cycle or payment has not been renewed before the final billing deadline, we will suspend your website for 2 weeks. If you do not pay within those 2 weeks we have the right to remove your hosting from our primary server and place it in an archive.
    • If we do not receive any response from you with regards to your hosting within a month we will delete your website and its assets from the archive.
    • We operate all hosting packages in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
  2. Customers who decide to take out a Monthly billing cycle will be required to pay for their hosting in FULL before it is activated.
    • When your hosting is due renewal you will be sent a notification a week in advanced. This e-mail will detail that a payment will be required on the date shown in the e-mail.
    • If a billing cycle payment has not been renewed before the final billing deadline, we will suspend your hosting with IMMEDIATE effect.
    • We will hold your hosting in a suspended state for up to 2 weeks before it is moved to an archive.
    • Your website can be archived for up to a month before we have the right to remove it from our network.
    • We operate all hosting packages in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
    • Customers who decide to take out a monthly billing cycle will be tied into a 12 year payment contract. Cancellation of this contract will require you to pay your remaining months of your package. We do not charge release fees for any of our websites.
  3. Abuse of connection methods to our network be it FTP, SFTP or SSH could result in your hosting being suspended.
  4. Customers who cause damage to their hosting package are liable for the issues caused. United Studios can resolve these issues, but labour and maintenance costs will be incurred based on the severity of the issues.
  5. If you’re thinking of leaving United Studios then that’s perfectly fine, we will assist with the transfer of your website and its assets to your new host FREE of charge, there are no release fee’s or data handling fees.
    • United Studios is not liable for any loss of Data which may occur when you leave our services.
  6. The uploading of pornographic material to your hosting plan is prohibited. Customers who are found to have this type of content on their account will have their hosting suspended pending a formal enquiry by United Studios. Enquiry result could lead to your hosting plan being suspended or terminated within reason. Notice will be given of the outcome.
  7. The uploading of illegal content to your hosting plan is strictly prohibited. In accordance with the governing laws it is illegal to supply or host Films, Music and Images without the original copyright holder’s permission. Uploading of such content will result in your hosting being suspended pending a formal enquiry by United Studios. Enquiry result could lead to your hosting plan being suspended or terminated within reason. Notice will be given of the outcome.
  8. United Studios does not support Terrorist organizations. Hosting of such material will lead to your hosting being suspended pending a formal enquiry by United Studios. The severity of the case could mean that the local governing authorities may have to be consulted. Enquiry result could lead to your hosting plan being suspended or terminated within reason. Notice will be given of the outcome.
  9. In accordance with the Computer Misuse Act 1990, any customer or external person who attempts to gain malicious access to the network is liable to have their details passed to the local governing authorities. We operate a strict security and tracing program at United Studios. We know who is online when and on what part of the server. Malicious activity by a customer will lead to the IMMEDIATE cancellation of your hosting plan, pending an investigation by United Studios and its providers.
  10. Hosting overuse is chargeable in extreme cases. Extreme cases are as listed:
    • Overuse of over 2GB of space on your monthly allowance on any hosting plan is chargeable at £1.00 per MB of data over usage. Notifications are automatically generated when you are reaching your limit so excuses will not be accepted. E-mail tracing is also activated on this service so we know who has received e-mails.
    • Overuse of Bandwidth is not chargeable as each plan comes with UNLIMITED bandwidth.
  11. United Studios is not liable for any disruption caused to your website through faulty hardware or malicious attacks. We keep our server up-to-date on all occasions and ensure that we have the latest security installed on the server. We cannot foresee problems with hardware therefore we are not liable for any issues which may occur.
  12. United Studios operates in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We aim to keep our customers happy and to run a secure business; this is why we operate so closely with these Acts. Operating in accordance with these governing laws means that we can offer you the best quality service.

Customer Accounts
A customer who decides to benefit from our services will have their own unique account at United Studios, you are asked to follow the below guidelines when supply United Studios with information.

  1. Customers are required to supply United Studios with valid data about themselves. Invalid data leads to inconsistent system management and can lead to future problems. Correct names and addresses should be used to ensure maximum efficiency while you deal with United Studios.
  2. Customers are responsible for managing their personal user accounts. If your account information changes you should notify United Studios immediately via e-mail on sales@unitedstudios.co.uk. When contacting us please provide your current customer details and the new customer details you would like added to our system.
  3. We operate all our data collection legally and do not sell any information to any first or third party companies. We strive to protect our customer's against E-mail Spam and Cold Telephone Calls. You can be sure that your data is safe with United Studios and that United Studios will be the only business who will use your data.

Disclaimer
United Studios and its affiliates operate this website in an “as is” format. We hold no warranties be it expressed or implied, and hereby disclaim all other warranties without limitation of implied warranties or merchantability conditions, its fitness for purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property and the violation of rights. United Studios does not warrant or make any representations concerning the use of the materials on its internet web sites and network, or to any other sites which may be linked to United Studios.

Boundaries
Websites which are designed by United Studios can be managed by the business at the request of the customer. Customers that choose to manage their own websites are liable for any inconveniences they may incur from doing so.
United Studios cannot be held accounted for damages incurred by these users; popular examples of these are Loss of Data, Loss of Connection, Corrupt Files, Loss of business etc.
In the event of such damages users can choose to restore a backup to their website from the daily backup space, but continuous abuse of this system will lead to the user being charged for the service which could be up to £30.00 per usage.

Amendments and Errata
Materials, content and information presented on this website could contain graphical, typographical and photographical errors. United Studios does not warrant that any of the materials on this website are whole, precise and recent. United Studios may make changes to the content present on this website at any time without warning, be it design or typographical changes. United Studios however does make a commitment to keep the information on this website up-to-date.

Use of United Studios, its Network, its Server and any other core services are done by the user and at the user’s discretion. Users must agree and be bound to these terms and conditions while they trade with United Studios. Any breach to these terms and conditions could have consequences, of which are sited where applicable above.

Governing Law
Any claim relating to United Studios will be governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
General Terms and Conditions applicable to the use of UnitedStudios.co.uk, its network and its services.
These are the terms and conditions presented by United Studios and do not voice or include the terms presented by the affiliates of United Studios. We operate as a sole trader business.
